Cardiovascular Disease Awareness: Heart Healthy Initiatives Underway at Esperion

Tricia Mullins

Executive Director, Advocacy & Professional Relations

I am very excited to join my Esperion colleagues, their families and pets to participate in the Washtenaw County American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Walk on Saturday, May 6, 2017!  Our Esperion team will be joining nearly 1 million people at 305 events across the country to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

At Esperion we are committed to promoting awareness for healthier lives and hearts.  Esperion has challenged our team of Lipid Management Experts to the FitBit Challenge, as we explore fun ways to improve our level of physical fitness and cardiovascular health.  We, like many of you, realize that the everyday choices we make can help us live healthier, happier and more fulfilling lives – both at work and home.

To get in the spirit of the upcoming Heart Walk in our community locally, on April 1st we challenged our team to the AHA Heart Walk / McKinley challenge.  This challenge is a competition of Washtenaw County companies and their employees to achieve “active minutes” of exercise to get people moving, as tracked on our FitBits.  To date, I am pleased to report that Esperion is leading the McKinley Challenge in the small companies’ category in the activity leader board!  Esperion is the #1 Most Active Workplace (based on cardiovascular active minutes), and #1 in most donations raised by a small company.

Esperion is proud to be participating for its third year in the AHA Heart Walk and to be one of the top fundraising companies in Washtenaw County.  If you are in Michigan on May 6, 2017, please join is for the AHA Heart Walk held at Eastern Michigan Bowen Field House.  Alternatively, AHA is hosting walk events across the country, so check out the following link to see if there is an event near you: http://bit.ly/2oKsfTT.  I encourage you to join us to get moving today and every day for a healthier heart!

Be Well,
